Hi,

I am trying to re-install the .Net Framework 1.1 and I get this error
message on the installation (The main dialogue says it is Registering
System.EnterpriseServices.dll at the time of failure).

An exception 'System.NullReferenceException' has occurred in RegSvcs.

Has anyone come across this/got a solution?

Thanks in advance,

Stu

System:
WinXP SP2
VS2003
Had originally installed Framework 1.1 SP1 - this is a reinstallation of the
framework after the old one was removed.

Hello,

Just wonder if you have found the solution. I'm dealing with the same problem.

Thank you,
Alex.

Try deleting %windir%\system32\mscoree.dll and then do the install.

I also have this error when I try to resintall my .net framework 1.1. It
won't allow me to delete mscoree.dll during the installation when the error
occurs. If I stop the installation, installation will rollback including
deleting mscoree.dll. I cannot install .net framework 1.1 due to this error.
Please help?

This issue can occur if the Microsoft .NET Framework 1.0 component which has
been
installed on your computer is corrupted.

You may want to try using the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility to remove
Microsoft
.NET Framework components. Then try to install Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1.

1. You can download the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility, msicuu2.exe from
the following link.

8D5E1BD/
msicuu2.exe>>

2. Open it, we can see the msicuu2.exe file. Double click msicuu2.exe to
install
the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility.

3. After installing it, please go to the Start menu => All Programs and find
the
Windows Installer Clean Up item.

4. Remove any items that are related to Microsoft .NET Framework (including
Microsoft .NET Framework 1.0 and 1.1) in the Windows Installer Clean Up
window.

5. Attempt to reinstall Microsoft .Net Framework 1.1.
If it still fails, in addition to running the Windows Installer Cleanup
Utility, you may also need to delete the version folder under the following
directory:
%SystemRoot%\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v1.1.4322

I hope this helps!!

Thank you. It works now after clean up. Actually, I didn't see the .Net
Framework 1.0 or 1.1. I only see the Visual Studio Baseline. I also found two
directories in my %SystemRoot%\Microsoft.NET\Framework. One is v.1.0.3705,
the other is v.1.1.4322. I removed them before I reinstalled the .Net
Framework 1.1. Everything went well. Thank you again.

Regedit showed that SP 1 had not been installed.
Tried several of the suggestions from above w/ no success.
Tried runnin
D:\Bin\AcltFEUI\support\dotnetfx\NDP1.1sp1-KB867460-X86.exe (from a
AutoCAD CD, also available at Microsoft). Without the /I or /
switches it did not run in Quiet mode and did ask for Input.
It then failed w/ the mssg: Info 9002. Microsoft.Net Framework 1.
Service Pack 1 (KB867460) failed because you have one or more hot fixe
installed. Remove them and try again.
Add/Remove Programs, and did find MS .Net Framework 1.1 Hot Fi
(KB886904). I removed it and rebooted and was then able to then ru
D:\Bin\AcltFEUI\support\dotnetfx\NDP1.1sp1-KB867460-X86.exe. Afte
which we were able to run the AutoCAD Lite 2006 install !!
